Workshops

The conference program will include 4 interesting workshops for students and younger participants. This program will provide a unique opportunity to develop a resource and knowledge base for young intellectuals seeking theoretical and practical solutions to the challenges of our contemporary world. The inter-cultural atmosphere of these workshops will be a great practice for interactive communication toward consensus and solidarity.

Pre-Registration:

There is NO additional fee for these workshops, all conference participants who are under 35 years old may attend the workshops but they have to register in advance. Pre-registration for the workshops is included in the conference Registration Form. Please note that as the workshops will be held in parallel sessions, everyone may attend only one workshop per day.

Selection Process:

As the number of workshop participants will be limited, after pre-registration a selection process will be carried out. Those who have done pre-registration will be informed to submit their Curriculum Vitae along with proposals (in specific formats depending on the workshop chosen) for review. Selected individuals will be informed and registered for the workshops.

First Round of Workshops

Workshop 1: Short Story Writing

Subject: Religious Life

In this workshop students will learn how to write short stories or how to analyze them. Sample related short stories along with written stories by participants will be read, discussed and analyzed.

Workshop 2: Team Working

Subject: Women Issues

In this workshop, global issues on women and family will be highlighted and participants will be asked to identify the main controversial issues about the subject in their countries and to share their personal ideas and solutions for the challenges.

Second Round of Workshops:

Workshop 3: Media Analysis

Subject: News Media

In this workshop the functions and mechanisms of the news media will be talked about. Examples of some internationally important events and their media coverage will be presented and the different strategies for representing the Reality and convincing the audience will be discussed and analyzed.

Workshop 4: Film Criticism

Subject: Cinema and the Sacred

In this workshop different trends in film criticism will be taught and participants will learn how to analyze and evaluate films. Sample related movies will be analyzed and discussed in working groups and circles.
